A tea party is a social gathering, usually in the afternoon, at which tea and light refreshments are served.

In common parlance: get some mates round to have a laugh, add some nourishment and sweet things they will compliment you on and tea to keep tongues moist and gossip flowing.

We're here to campaign for you to make the most of tea and cake. You could have a genteel soirée with doilies, cake forks, and napkins. A garden party at the height of summer, iced lemon tea with cucumber sandwiches and strawberries. A hot cup on a cold winter afternoon, with buttered crumpets and a large helping of treacle tart with custard.

Appreciated by all ages and IQs, get together with your mates and have a blummin' good natter. There's nothing better.

and definitely no milk in little plastic containers. We're interested in the real deal, a good old-fashioned afternoon treat of an experience.
